This piece came from a quiet reflection on family, presence, and the small, unseen moments. I wante to paint a tender moment that we might overlook in daily life.
In this series. I’m trying to discover something I haven’t quite said before. I challenge myself not to repeat, not to fall back on what’s comfortable and know i can do. That’s why in this piece, I pushed the texture further than I usually do—letting the paint build up a bit more to express the physical properties of oil.
Each painting is a new question into the kind of work I want to be making. This one feels like a step closer to that goal.
