Lemon, Honey, and Ginger Original Oil Painting
Part of the 30 days of still life series.
My idea for this painting was motivated by more than just a love of lemon, honey and ginger. The red floral cup, lemon and tea towel provided the perfect subject matter for a colour scheme of red yellow and blue, which is what I was wanting to creat.
Some interesting facts:
Ginger was cultivated in India and China as early as 5000 BCE. Lemons were cultivated as early as the 7th century BCE. And honey, well noone really knows how long bees have been making it, but they have found fossils of honey bees dating back to 150 million years ago. And it never goes off!
10 x 12 inch oil painting on canvas.
Made with artist grade winsor and newton oil paints.
Frame not included, example only.
