Still life with Apricots and Pumpkin Original Oil Painting
I find myself getting more into wanting to paint exactly what’s in front of me as opposed to the impressionist approach, which i love to, of just capturing a quick ‘impression’ of a subject. Instead of painting ‘just an apricot’ I want to paint ‘that specific apricot’. It feels more like a spiritual experience and i really have to slow down. It makes me think of each object having its own individual existence and history.
I will provably dabble between the two approaches moving forward. As this still life was actually painted over two days and not one. It does take a bit more time.
10 x 12 inch oil on canvas.
